Expansion of a new restaurant

VICTORIA, Texas — On Monday, September 21, the Mexican restaurant in Ventura held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new expansion. Tamales de Ventura will expand to a new location adjacent to Detar North Hospital.

The new location will be renamed Ventura’s Mexican Restaurant and located right next to the new Springwood Medical Plaza at 6202 Nursery Drive. Ventura’s current location will remain standing and used for their dining venue.

Ventura’s has been serving Tex-Mex food in the Victoria area since 1985. The restaurant has been voted Best Mexican Food by the Victoria Advocate for six of the past seven years. Their new location will feature a full-service bar, drive-thru, take-out station and over 150 seats. A covered terrace will also be available for guests.

Owners, staff, property developers and a few city officials from Tamales de Ventura held the private groundbreaking gathering on Monday. Martha Vasquez, co-owner of Ventura’s, shared her appreciation for the City’s support.

“Thank you, Victoria, for your continued and loyal support over the years,” Vasquez said. “We are delighted to inaugurate this new location. We look forward to continuing to serve you in our new facility in 2022.

Construction will begin this month, with an expected completion date of spring 2022.
