As part of the TradeWinds Island Resorts expansion project, St. Pete Beach now has its first-ever three-story zipline over the sand, as well as a brand new Mexican restaurant. The news comes amid the resort’s announcement that it has completed renovations of 141 more rooms, completing the expansion it began last summer.
Bermudas Beachside Cantina is now open for dinner Thursday through Monday, offering gulf views, delicious Mexican fare, and handcrafted cocktails and drinks. Starting at 5 p.m., Bermudas serves appetizers, main courses, desserts, and margaritas all night long. Menu highlights include queso fundido, ham and cheese croquettes, street tacos, shrimp stuffed peppers, palomillo sandwich and churros.
Known for its many unique and family-friendly activities, TradeWinds has also added the new Zing Ray Zip, making it St. Pete Beach’s first-ever resort with a double-decker zip line over the beach. Resort guests can enjoy unlimited rides, soaring through bright blue Florida skies for a thrilling birds-eye view of the award-winning beach.
Many more fun amenities are coming to the beach this summer at TradeWinds, including the Aqua-Bana, a 10-person covered floating cabana with a table and cooler. The resort also replaced its floating cabanas with a new king-size version and added new components to the popular floating water park, including a new waterslide, catapult swing and monkey bar apparatus.
TradeWinds Completes Expansion Renovating Former Alden Suites Property
As part of its growth, TradeWinds acquired the neighboring property, formerly Alden Suites, and incorporated it into the RumFish Beach Resort. The expansion brings the number of rooms at RumFish Beach Resort to 353, for a total of 899 rooms at TradeWinds Island Resorts.
The 141 fully renovated rooms include villas with gulf and resort views, plus seven two-bedroom verandas. Dressed in a stylish palette of whites, grays and navy blues, the rooms have been completely renovated with new furniture, contemporary flooring, kitchens, lighting, new appliances, original artwork themed and bathroom amenities to match existing rooms at RumFish Beach Resort. The expansion also added two swimming pools, a relaxing covered spa area and a beachfront bar, all of which can be used by guests of the two TradeWinds properties.
“TradeWinds offers a unique vacation experience with two neighboring sister properties directly on St. Pete Beach,” said Bob LaCasse, general manager, TradeWinds Island Resorts. “We are always striving to improve and expand our product to keep it exciting, fresh and memorable for our new and returning customers, which is exactly what we have done with the addition of our beautiful new rooms and zip line on the beach.”
