Ten months after putting up the “coming soon” sign in front of the former Village Inn restaurant in Marana, Guadalajara quietly opened on January 7.
The Mexican restaurant at 5955 W. Arizona Pavilions Drive is chef-owner Seth Holzman’s third location, and it’s significantly smaller than its sister establishments, seating 175 compared to 285 at the Guadalajara Grill Mexican, 4901 E. Broadway; and 235 at the Guadalajara Grill Fiesta, 750 N. Kolb Road.
The new restaurant is located in the busy Interstate 10/Cortaro Road corridor, home to only one other family-run Mexican restaurant, Nana’s Kitchen, across from Cortaro at 8225 N. Courtney Page Way.
Guadalajara’s offers the same menu of classic Mexican dishes, including enchiladas, tacos, burritos and the popular Plato Huapango, a family-friendly platter of steaming meats, beans, rice and tortillas.
The new location offers Guadalajara’s popular salsa and guacamole as well as original house margaritas, frozen strawberry or mango flavored margaritas, including a zesty cucumber with fresh jalapeño.
