The new Mexican restaurant coming to Ashburn is changing hands

Back in June The Burn announced the news of a new Mexican restaurant coming to Ashbrook Commons shopping center on the north side of Ashburn. It was going to be called El Ranchero and was part of a small brand with several other El Ranchero locations in the area. Well, the owners group is now fine-tuning their plans.

The Burn learned that El Ranchero would not be coming to Ashburn. Instead, they opt for another brand of restaurant that they also operate. It’s called Mexican restaurant Altos de Jalisco and it’s described as a more premium version of what they were previously planning.

They go to the old Rubino’s Pizzeria space in Ashbrook Commons. Ashburn will likely be Altos de Jalisco’s second venue. The first opened this summer in Winchester.

Altos de Jalsico’s menu still features all the Mexican dishes you’d expect to find – guacamole, nachos, tacos, fajitas, burritos, enchiladas and carne asada. You can see the full restaurant menu here.

In case you were wondering, Los Altos de Jalisco is a term for the highlands of Jaliscan, a region located in the eastern part of the Mexican state of Jalisco. Los Altos is one of the main tequila producing regions in the state.
