Although Mississippi is synonymous with great food, authentic Mexican cuisine is hard to come by. However, we did the impossible and found an unassuming little town tucked away in the pine country that just happens to serve some of the best Mexican food in the state.
In these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list at a later date.
Despite its small size, Philadelphia has some great sights and attractions, including the Golden Moon Casino and Williams Brothers, an old-fashioned general store that’s been around since 1907.

(However, it’s not the restaurant’s appearance that keeps customers coming back again and again.)

Hondumex serves a mix of Mexican and Honduran cuisine – hence the name.

Of all the dishes on the menu, street tacos remain the best sellers. Other customer favorites include fried ice cream and queso fundido (hot melted cheese topped with chorizo and sautéed onions).

Affordable prices are also one of the hallmarks of the restaurant.

And that’s a secret you’ll want to know!
