Nashville’s best Mexican food can be found at this family-run restaurant

When you think of Mexican food in the United States, it most likely brings to mind states like Texas, Arizona, and California. The states that border Mexico, of course, in Tennessee, both landlocked by water and owned by the United States, it might seem a bit difficult to find some ethnic flair. We are here to say that it is not! La Hacienda is located in the heart of the city and makes Mexican food so authentic and delicious that even former President Barack Obama ate there when he visited. Not convinced yet? Check out the restaurant below!

La Hacienda Taqueria is an authentic Mexican restaurant located in the heart of South Nashville. It functions as a market, bakery, and restaurant, which not only means you can indulge in a margarita or two, but you can pick up the specialty ingredients you need to take home.

Colorful, family-friendly, and true to its roots, this charming little place is brightly decorated with native Mexican artwork and is constantly filled with happy, food-loving locals and tourists.

The Woodbine venue has been around for nearly three decades, and it’s been partying since its inception. Be sure to go out of hours if you can, to keep away from the crowds. But those tacos? They are well worth the wait!

Here you can see the ceviche, very popular and a constant on the menu, but people also rave about the fries and salsa as well as the decadent cottage cheese sauce.

The family restaurant is a must visit if you are in South Nashville. Of course, even President Obama felt the urge to order a meal when he was in Nashville, and that should say something! Farewell, BBQ! The tacos are back.

Visit for yourself at 2615 Nolensville Pike every weekday from 10am to 9pm and until 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Enjoy your lunch!

You can continue to treat your taste buds by visiting this family-run confectionery business right here in Tennessee.
