Mexican Food and the HOA Meeting, Part Two

We were blamed for everything after yesterday’s story about a Delray Beach HOA meeting.

DELRAY BEACH, FL ( (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) – In the day since we published the story about a woman spending 10 minutes at an HOA meeting complaining that Mexican food is being served in the community’s private restaurant, we were accused of several things.

We have been accused of using the term “New Yorker” as a code for “Jew”. We’ve been accused of being anti-Semitic, we’ve been accused of being pro-Mexican food (seriously), and we’ve been accused of inciting hatred by reporting the incident.

In order: We’ve used the term “New Yorkers” to accurately describe what appear to be thousands of obnoxious New Yorkers – from everything religions – who have moved to South Florida in recent years and only complain about South Florida. That doesn’t include the tens of thousands of New Yorkers who are perfectly lovable and valued members of the community. If you think the term “New Yorker” is pejorative, we suggest you listen to an old Michael Jackson hit. It’s called “The Man in the Mirror”.

We are not anti-Semites. is a Jewish-run operation. We are Anti-Elite, Anti-Obnoxious and Anti-Unintelligent-By-Choice. We’re really anti-people-who-bought-a-home-believing-their-HOA-dues-would-never-increase-and-complain-incessantly-because-it-costs-money money-for-living. But we are absolutely not anti-Semites. For those of our readers who wrote this, we find it sad that you equate certain bad behavior with a specific religion.

As for being “pro-Mexican food”. Yes. We enjoy quesadillas, nachos and similar dishes from time to time. We are also pro-Italian, pro-Thai and pro-American.

As for incitement to hatred. We didn’t and we don’t. We report facts. If these facts reveal the biases of the people being reported on, so be it. The facts are the facts.

For those of you who just tuned in, we reported this story yesterday. A woman spent a lot of time at an HOA board meeting this week complaining that the community restaurant was serving Mexican food as part of a Mother’s Day buffet, then new to Cinco de Mayo (which we rate as a Mexican holiday). The woman commented, “Why Mexican food?! Many don’t like it. It doesn’t sit well in my stomach.

She also added, “Who the hell wants this Mexican food? Nobody eats this Mexican junk.

For those of you who have moved from New York and are improving South Florida, we thank you. For those of you who just like to complain, just wants to remind you that you don’t always have to verbalize the little voice in your head. When you do, we may report what you say.
