A popular family-run Mexican restaurant plans to open a second location in Center County.
Lupita’s Authentic Mexican Kitchen is set to open June 12 at 200 Mill St. in Milesburg, co-owner Emilio Lopez Ramirez said Wednesday.
“We’re really, really excited,” he said. “So many customers are equally thrilled. We have clients who ask us: ‘Why don’t you go to Bellefonte? It’s too far for us to drive to State College. It would be nice if you moved to Bellefonte or that area. So we’ll be there now.
There are around 14 seats inside and could be over 40 outside. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The restaurant sells a plethora of Mexican dishes, including tacos, fajitas, gorditas, and sopes. The commercial lease is for three years.
Lupita’s opened its first location in June 2019. Its restaurant inside Uni-Mart 3180 W. College Ave. should stay open.
