Ambar Restaurateur closes its Mexican restaurant Silver Spring TTT

Restaurateur Ivan Iricanin will close the Silver Spring branch of his Mexican company, TTT (aka Tacos Tortas and Tequila) on Monday, November 29. A three-story sister location in Clarendon will remain open.

Iricanin, who is also behind Balkan restaurants Ambar in Capitol Hill and Arlington, said the restaurant struggled after multimedia company Discovery pulled its neighboring Silver Spring headquarters shortly after TTT opened in 2018. And then, of course, the pandemic didn’t help.

“Our lunch and happy hour were all Discovery. We had this loss, which was difficult to recover, and then we had Covid. And now we have plans for expansion and I had to refine my goal, ”says Iricanin, whose company Street Guys Hospitality also operates two full-service Mexican concepts and a series of quick and easy-going Burrito Madres in Serbia.

As in other Iricanin restaurants, TTT Silver Spring was best known for its all-you-can-eat brunches with plentiful, inexpensive drinks, although the menu shrank during the pandemic.
